THE SHIPWRECK (NAVAGIO BEACH / SMUGGLER'S COVE)
There is no need to introduce the most amazing and famous beach in Zakynthos. Also known as Smuggler’s Wreck or "The Shipwreck", Navagio Beach is the emblem of the island and one of the most popular attractions in Greece, with white sand, unique blue waters and the shipwreck of a Greek smuggler ship. Its story goes back to the ‘80s, when the ship with its smuggled cargo crashed on the beach of Aghios Georgios. Ever since the beach was renamed to "Navagio" (meaning "Shipwreck" in Greek). Accessible only from the sea, you can reach Navagio by joining a small cruise taking off daily from Zakynthos Town, Agios Nikolaos, Skinari or Porto Vromi as well as by renting a motor boat or private yacht. You could include the Blue Caves in the same cruise.
THE BLUE CAVES
A series of sea caves that reflect the deep cyan color given by the corals to the water, the Blue Caves are just calling you for a dive. Located in the northern part of Zakynthos Island, near Aghios Nikolaos and Cape Skinari, the Blue Caves are one of the most impressive natural realms of Zakynthos. Accessible only from the sea, you can reach Blue Caves by joining a small cruise taking off daily from Zakynthos Town, Agios Nikolaos, Skinari or Porto Vromi as well as by renting a motor boat or private yacht. You could include Navagio Beach in the same cruise.
MARATHONISSI (TURTLE ISLAND)
The most impressive destination of Laganas bay is the islet of Marathonissi, also known as Turtle Island because of its turtle-like shape. Turquoise waters and white sand beaches, hidden sea coves and tropical vegetation comprise this tropical paradise located only a few minutes from Keri Beach by boat. Hire a motor boat or have a private cruise to Marathonissi with a private yacht. You could also include Keri Caves in the same cruise.
KERI CAVES
Spectacular monuments of nature like hidden sea coves, beaches simular to the Shipwreck Beach and marvelous rocky arches that dive into the crystal waters of Keri are a few only of the treasures in this must-take cruise. Hire a motor boat or have a private cruise to Keri Caves with a private yacht. You could also include Marathonissi in the same cruise.
CEPHALONIA - ITHACA
Cephalonia (also called Kefalonia or Kefalinia), the largest of the Ionian Sea islands, is located about 50 km from the north cost of Zakynthos Island. From the cosmopolitan town of Fiskardo on the northern coast, the marvelous cave of Melissanthi and the wonderful beach of Myrtos, to the beautiful capital of Argostoli, Kefalonia is an island full of treasures. Daily ferry itineraries connect Zante with Kefalonia from the port of Agios Nikolaos (Zakynthos) to the port of Pessada (Kefalonia). You could also have a private cruise to Cephalonia with a private yacht. You should further include the nearby island of Ithaca (Ithaki), home to the legendary king Ulysses (Odysseus).
ANCIENT OLYMPIA
Having Zakynthos as your base is quite convenient: Starting from Zante you can take several short cruises to approximate locations such as Ancient Olympia, birth place of the Olympic Games. In one of the most important archeological sites of Greece you will see the remains of the temple of Zeus (one of the seven wonders once) as well as the first stadium to ever host the original Olympic Games in the 7th century BCE. This is also the place where the Olympic Flame is lit before traveling the whole world for the modern Olympic Games. Daily ferry itineraries connect Zakynthos to Kyllini port. From there Ancient Olympia is about an hour drive. You could also have a private cruise to Kyllini or Katakolo ports with a private yacht, then a private car could take you to Ancient Olympia.

POST-BYZANTINE MUSEUM OF ZAKYNTHOS
First time opened to public back in the '60s, the Post-Byzantine Museum of Zakynthos is a two-floor building located in Solomos Square in Zante town. Here the visitors can admire wood-carved Byzantine icons, frescos dated back to the 15th Century, and oils on canvas paintings of famous Greek artists.
MUSEUM OF DIONYSIOS SOLOMOS & EMINENT ZAKYNTHIANS
The museum of Dionisios Solomos and Eminent Zakynthians exhibits a large collection of personal belongings and manuscripts of this famous Greek poet who wrote the National Anthem of Greece. The same building also hosts the mausoleums of Dionysios Solomos and Andreas Kalvos, another great Zakynthian poet.
